Candice Glover Performs “Lovesong” – AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 12

PG1_2592_620x350-1Candice Glover did an amazing job last night performing “Lovesong” on American Idol. So amazing that I don’t need to recap Mariah throwing glitter onto Glover, or the endless bowing by the handsome Keith Urban, or the very long but deserved standing ovation. However, did anyone else notice the demonic voice on the subsequent videos of Glover’s performance. It didn’t bother me enough to stop replaying it because Glover’s performance was just that good. But when I heard it on Idol’s official Youtube, I was like “oh this isn’t some random person adding his/hers–or satan’s– own little diddy to the performance” this is–and apparently really is– an audio f*ck-up.

My theory is one of the sound guys wants to be a heavy metal singer and added his own ad-libs unknowingly to the performance because he didn’t realize the mic on him was own.

Screen Shot 2013-03-16 at 7.54.53 PM… discover PrankVSPrank. Ever hop on youtube and end up watching a series of videos from the same channel and feel like you hit an entertainment laugh-line? That’s what I did today, I discovered this beautiful couple, Jesse & Jenna, who apparently film each others reactions as they pull the most random pranks on each other. The pranks are beyond hilarious, sometimes seemingly dangerous, and sometimes makes you say “Aww.” They are my new favorite couple on this planet because I truly feel is they were either to get engaged or breakup, the moment will be pretty intense for the viewing audience.

My favorite video so far is entitled “Hot Pepper Extract Prank” which features a triage of hilarity, danger, and “What?!…Aww, is she ok?… oh she’s good, may the laughing continue to commence.”

I’ve had Justin Bieber’s ‘As Long As You Love Me’ on repeat during my cool-down for my workouts for a while now, but I’m quite loving Baiyu’s take on the JB-chart topper. Baiyu pairs up with Frankie Z, saying  ”I love changing up these male pop songs to reflect a female perspective.” Catch Baiyu this Thursday as she is mentored by fame MC Nelly, along with Frankie Z as he is guided by Joe Jonas on the CW Network’s new hit show The Next!

Have you jumped on the UNII bandwagon? I love palettes where you can easily store your freshly depotted eyeshadows and blushes. They are actually great for ‘refills’ too. A good way to save money and time is to purchase refills (no depotting necessary) of your favorite cosmetics, as the luxurious packaging often times bulks up the price.

Like you, I have a few UNII, Z-Palettes, MAC, etc palettes that hold a good portion of my makeup arsenal. Also like you, I’m always searching for the next best thing that fit my mood and vanity. So I’m always looking through blogs, Youtube, my email for suggestions on the perfect products to make my life a little easier and please my need for aesthetics. I do love NYX Cosmetics. The company itself offers affordable makeup that doesn’t lack quality. I particularly love the idea of affordable quality makeup when it comes to seasonal color trends so I can try out a few shades to see if I even like the color on me before I splurge on higher-end brands. In regards to the once in a lifetime sale… well, let’s just say it took me a life time to get into the website, which probably is due to high traffic. When I actually got in, I didn’t get to make it to the checkout because the server would just quit on me. All in all, I’m happy for those who got through. But I feel for those of you who didn’t. The experience reminded me of my freshman year of college when I would have to wait to sign up for classes. Cheers!

A blossoming Makeup Artist, Leina Novicio, is entering in a new chapter in her life as she becomes featured on a website which belongs to a magazine publication that is viewed by millions of women globally. Novicio is being featured on Shape Magazine’s website for a beauty series on celebrity inspired looks. Shape Magazine regularly features ‘It’ girls on their covers like Kim Kardashian, Ashley Tisdale, Fergie, Tyra Banks, and more. With Leina’s superstar talent, she will show you how to achieve the power house looks of Adele, Anne Hathaway, Eva Mendes, Emma Watson, and Kim Kardashian.

How does Leina feel about the start of latest chapter in her life? Besides exclaiming her excitement, Leina expressed gratitude to her viewers by saying “I just wanted to thank all the people who have helped me along the way. Social Media has always had it’s fair share of dare I say viral trends and tags but, the latest trend engulfing the Youtube Beauty network, has really gotten blogs talking, taking the palettes and brushes from your favorite beauty guru’s hands such as MakeupByLeina, and putting the cosmetics into the hands (and control) of their boyfriend. One of my favorite uploads was from SunKissAlba with her boyfriend Manny. Honey B: Selena Gomez ‘A Year Without Rain’

Selena Gomez is might be known more for her image as a Disney star with her show Wizards of Waverly Place but, the actress has also put her talents in feature films and music. Gomez lends her vocals to Selena Gomez & The Scene; a band which also consists of Ethan Roberts on guitar, Joey Clement on bass, Greg Garman on drums, and Dane Forrest on Keyboards. 

One day when I was dabbling videos on Youtube, the video for ‘A Year Without Rain’  came out and I instantly felt attracted to the aesthetics of the video as well as the song. Although I heard of Gomez prior to this, it was the first time I have actually seen any performance piece of hers. I especially appreciated that the image and music of the video showed the baby-faced teen in a mature light than what I expected from a Disney star. And by mature I don’t mean scantily-clad teen trying to thrust off her Disney-bubble gum-pop image by relying on overtly sexual dance moves and suggestive lyrics but rather Gomez looked sophisticated, mature, modestly sensual, and not to mention beautiful. 

I loved her silvery smokey-eye and thought of it as a wearable look that people who love a Kim Kardashian smokey eye makeup look could pull off for daytime wear.  If you haven’t seen the video yet, check it out below.

In just a few hours Leina from Makeup By Leina will be celebrating her 20th birthday. Not many can say by their 20th birthday that they have their own line of pigments from a reputable brand as well as running a successful series on youtube as a partnered Beauty Guru. Leina has come so far at such a young age that we can only expect more from her. So far over 1200 people have learned more about this beauty in her ‘Meet The Beauty‘ interview, she has close to 10,000 followers on Twitter, has been viewed well over 8,000,000 times on Youtube, and has four pigments available in her Glammed Up by Leina line at Sill Glamorus. While there are many more numbers to certify record, join me in wishing Leina a Happy Birthday on her twitter, facebook, blog, or youtube to make sure that 20, counts as a special number close to Leina’s heart.
