This week on American Idol, Grammy-Award winning artist Beyonce Knowles, served as mentor to the final three contestants on American Idol. She gave one-on-one sessions with soulful crooner Haley Reinhart and Country favorites Scott McCreery & Lauren Alaina. Beyonce seemed particularly fond of Haley, calling her a “risk-taker” and “incredible”. Beyonce also came to American Idol to premiere the video for her latest single ‘Run The World (Girls)’.
The single is off her next set for a June release, entitled ’4′. In the video Beyonce takes the role of band of female women. With a fusion between military style drum beats and African tribal beats the song is clearly a female empowerment anthem with a bold message. If you missed the premiere, you can check out the video below.
Up next for the Houston native can be seen on the Oprah Show Farewell where she will do a live performance of her latest single. At the Oprah Farewell tapping Beyonce will join Madonna, Queen Latifah, Dakota Fanning, Tom Cruise, Maria Shriver, Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx, Aretha Franklin, Usher, Simon Cowell, Jackie Evanchio, Will Smith, Kristen Chenowith, Alicia Keys, Maya Angelou, Michael Jordan, and more; with Tom Hanks serving as the Master of Ceremonies. At the star-studded occasion, actress Halle Berry said that the viewers “have literally risen up to change the world,” adding “The essence of The Oprah Winfrey Show is that we’re all more alike than we are different.” The final two shows are set to air on May 23rd and 24th.
