I’ve never counted my legs as my best feature, I appreciate them generally for walking purposes. That said, it does feel nice to put on a pair of shorts and get a compliment or two just feel confident baring my legs. For the record, I don’t Zumba or really go to the gym and I’ve only made it to a level one on Pauline Nordin’s ‘Butt Bible’ series but, I don’t have any major issues with cellulite except for maybe a few dimples. Also, I love the color of my skin, but I do have some light scarring from hiking trips and other mishaps. So while I don’t necessarily need a ‘tanner’ because my skin color is naturally tan, I do like having a healthy glow that brings out the warmer tones in my skin. This brings me to the Argan Bronzing Oil by Josie Maran Cosmetics.

The Argan Bronzing Oil is one of those products that I sometimes find myself asking “Was this made just for me?” because it’s pretty much everything I wanted for my legs and more. This oil gives my skin moisture without adding thick and greasy product while giving my skin a great glow. Because it moisturizes even after I shower and the bronze ‘glow’ is gone the moisturizing benefits actually leave my skin feeling soft and supple. It also smells great with a hint of a light-citrus scent. The best part in terms of the coloring effect it has, is that it’s natural. Whether your skin is light, medium, or dark this product is going to compliment your complexion with a healthy bronze glow. It’s essentially moisture without the grease and a bronze for every beauty.
Honey Hint: I prefer waiting a few minutes after my shower to apply this product until my skin is dry. I feel the product absorbs better and feels lighter when it isn’t competing with water because oil and water don’t mix. That said, on drier areas like my knees and elbows, when I feel I want to ‘thicken’ the product I put a few drops in my palm add an even smaller amount of water, rub my hands together to emulsify and viola I have my very own body lotion without the ‘grease’.

I know there are great moisturizing products out there, but honestly I don’t care if it smells like Eau de Roses, I just don’t want to feel like I poured a bottle of Eau de Crisco on my body. Honestly, I don’t know when it started but I’ve always disliked lotion. I don’t like how I can feel it just sitting on my skin, feeling sticky, and just having all that product on me; I’d rather just have dry flakey skin. But when I started to getting into argan oil and other natural oils for cleansing my skin, I really started to understand why I hated lotion. When my skin is dry, naturally I want to provide moisture. But, lotions that had mineral oil and petroleum would just sort of coat my skin; making it look and feel greasy without adding any moisture. And with oils like Argan oil, I’ve found that it doesn’t just sit on my skin, but absorbs into my skin without any mess. I can even use it on my oily/combination face and not have it break me out. So if you’re at Sephora or on the web check out Josie Maran’s Argan Oil (The JMC website will soon be shipping to Canada). Even if you’re not looking for the bronzing effect, there is a selection of Argan oil products for every skin type and your needs. Keep the Crisco in your kitchen, not on your skin!
