Food Network star, mother and best-selling cookbook author Giada De Laurentiis recently unveiled her latest cookbook, ”Weeknights with Giada”, which features cooking for the family with fresh ingredients. The born-and-bred Italian is also noticeably slim, begging those to ask, what’s her secret. Alison Prato over at Health.com got a chance to ask the svelte star, about how she keeps her figure in check with her profession that not only surrounds her with food but requires her to taste it.

De Laurentiis revealed; “…I eat a little bit of everything and not a lot of anything. Everything in moderation. I know that’s really hard for people to understand, but I grew up in an Italian family where we didn’t overdo anything. We ate pasta, yes, but not a lot of it. Pasta doesn’t make you fat. How much pasta you eat makes you fat.”

Find out what De Laurentiis said about turning 40, secret to serving fresh meals quickly, how she keeps her energy up, and more over at Health.com.
